Location: Paradox Brewery, 2781 US Rt. 9 North Hudson NY 

Terms: Full Time/Part Time

Requirements: Flexible Schedule, Weekend Availability, Holiday Availability

Compensation: $10 per hour, plus tips depending on experience

About the Role: 

Paradox Brewery is looking for a reliable, friendly, and energetic server in our busy tasting room in North Hudson NY. With duties that include welcoming and warmly greeting guests on arrival, bussing and clearing tables, as well as being fully educated on Paradox Brewery products, upcoming releases, and events.

In addition to the day-to-day activities, servers will be expected to learn everything they can about our beers, the production process, and craft beer in general. They will be expected to guide guests to beers they would enjoy and explain the differences between staple and seasonal styles. Knowledge of Paradox Brewery beers is important, as is knowledge of current trends of the craft-beer industry, including hop, grain and yeast choices.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Report to the Tasting Room Manager

  • Represent Paradox Brewery as a brand ambassador.

  • Provide excellent customer service to visitors.

  • Greet and server visitors in a positive and friendly way.

  • Ability to deal courteously and professionally with guests.

  • Answer questions and educate guests about Paradox Brewery, our beers and other products, and the differences between beer styles.

  • Maintain thorough understanding of all menu items, and be able to answer guest questions.

  • Accurately taking guest orders for food and drink, checking back to ensure needs are met.

  • Bussing and resetting tables, as required.

  • Washing glassware.

  • Changing kegs.

  • Ensure the tasting room, bar and bar area, counters, sinks, utensils, coolers, shelving, and storage areas are clean and comply with established sanitation standards, hygiene, and health standards.

  • All other day to day activities as necessary to keep the brewpub maintained.

  • Ability to multi-task in a noisy and fast-paced, distraction-filled environment.

     

Candidate Requirements:

  • Must be 18+ years old

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

  • Must be friendly and outgoing with strong customer service skills

  • Must be organized 

  • Must be willing to work as a team and able to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, and nonverbal communication 

  • Ability to adjust and adapt quickly to changes in schedule

  • Ability to work on your feet for several hours at a time
